James Van Doren

James Van Doren brings a rich blend of expertise to the commercial real estate world,  drawing from his previous career in law and finance as well as his ownership and  management of healthcare clinics. His transition into real estate was driven by his  experiences both as a small business owner and as an investor and developer of  residential and multi-family real estate. James primarily focuses on advising clients in the  medical office and industrial spaces. 

James began his career as a corporate attorney in the New York office of Latham & Watkins and later spent nearly a decade as an investment banker, first at Lehman Brothers/Barclays  Capital and later as a coverage officer at Citigroup for healthcare providers. In the latter  role, James was responsible for acquisitions, financing and recapitalizations, equity  offerings and REIT conversions and was engaged as a strategic advisor by companies that  owned and operated surgery centers, physician groups, skilled nursing and senior living  facilities. After leaving Wall Street and relocating to Arizona, James acquired, developed  and sold multiple residential and multi-family properties and founded and managed  multiple small healthcare clinics. 

James resides in Scottsdale and devotes much of his free time to planning various  adventures with his 6-year-old son. He is also an avid traveler, sports enthusiast and a  passionate consumer of history podcasts.
