Michael Achtman

Michael Achtman joined the ORION team in 2015 with a focus on retail leasing. Beginning his career in commercial real estate at Retail Brokers, Inc. in 2007, he worked on leasing shopping centers and tenant representation. At Retail Brokers, Inc. he worked on a wide range of projects, including being an integral part of the strategic development for Arizona State University Downtown campus’ retail component.

Through his tireless work ethic and dedication to doing things the precise way, Achtman has helped build the leasing department of ORION and was promoted to Vice President in 2017. He has successfully worked on new construction, ground leases, build to suites, and “traditional” retail leasing. As Achtman’s career grew he has become more involved in sales having closed 8 sales transactions in 2021 alone. Recent sales transactions include Central Marketplace in Goodyear for $9,800,000, Northsight Crossing in Scottsdale for $21,100,000 and The Art at McDowell Mountain Marketplace for $6,150,000. Achtman uniquely understands how each lease affects the sales value. Knowing both sides of the business is an advantage to him and his clients.

Having lived in Arizona since 1987, he has seen the Valley grow immensely and is eager to bring his intimate knowledge of the Valley’s retail scene to his clients. Achtman is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and holds a Minor in Business. He remains extremely active in the community where he is a member of Jewish National Fund, The Jewish Federations Real Estate Group, ICSC, The Men’s Art Council, and the University of Arizona Alumni Association.
