Aspirant Development Celebrates Grand Opening of The Stewart Article originally posted on Commercial Executive Magazine on May 30, 2019 Aspirant Development, a leading residential and commercial real estate developer based in Scottsdale, Ariz., celebrated the grand opening of The Stewart, a 19-story, 312-unit luxury apartment and mixed-use building in downtown Phoenix on Thursday, May 22. The event was attended by representatives from Aspirant along with a host of local dignitaries, including Phoenix Director of Community and Economic Development Christine Mackay, the family of the building namesake, the Stewarts, new residents, community members and project executives. At sunset, guests gathered on the 18th-floor rooftop pool deck to toast to the building’s completion. “I am humbled by the fact that you’ve decided to make The Stewart your home,” said Partner of Aspirant Development Geoffrey Jacobs, addressing the two dozen new residents who had moved into The Stewart prior to the grand opening. “Delivering a project like this to downtown Phoenix is something I’ve been working on for over four years. I appreciate my partners’ belief and support in the idea and vision for The Stewart. This type of project, which was unprecedented when we broke ground, is not easy to build, but it came together and worked out better than I envisioned. I couldn’t be prouder of what this team has accomplished.” The Stewart is the first ever high-rise apartment building constructed in the city of Phoenix and was built on a site that formerly housed the Circles Records & Tapes building and was originally occupied by The Stewart Motor Company, a Studebaker dealership, in 1947. The building incorporates many architectural details from its former purposes, including the showroom turntable, where Studebaker cars were displayed and rotated in the semi-circular window. With its blend of historic and modern touches, extensive amenities, and claim to fame as the tallest residential building on Roosevelt Row, The Stewart provides a distinctive lifestyle experience for discerning residents in the center of dynamic downtown Phoenix. The Stewart’s general contractor is UEB Builders and it was designed by CCBG Architects. Samantha Spidell of Avenue5 Residential, a Seattle-based multifamily property management firm with a local operations office in Phoenix, is leading the management team at The Stewart. “Our residents love the unique urban high-rise lifestyle they can get at The Stewart,” Spidell said. “They have an exciting opportunity to play a role in the evolving identity of the growing, vibrant downtown Phoenix they now call home.” The Stewart is a pet-friendly property featuring modern studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments for rent, with 24 unique floor plans ranging from 477 to 1,899 square feet. The monthly rent is between $1,400 and $4,500, depending on floorplan. Apartment homes at The Stewart feature distinctive amenities including expansive private balconies, the latest “smart home” options, abundant closet space, front-loading in-home washers and dryers, contemporary custom-wood cabinetry, quartz countertops, under-cabinet lighting, lofty nine- to 11-foot ceilings, and energy-efficient windows. Residents of The Stewart will enjoy access to an on-site concierge, an eighth-floor 24-hour fitness center with open-air sanctuary, gas BBQ grills, entertainment kitchen, bicycle storage and rentals, 24-hour on-demand parcel lockers, resident boardroom, clubroom lounge and garage parking. The property’s shimmering rooftop pool and spa, the highest in Phoenix, will afford breathtaking city and mountain views while providing residents with a refreshing oasis from desert temperatures. Snooze: an AM Eatery will occupy part of the property’s 9,000-square-foot ground floor. For more information on the luxury rental residences at The Stewart, visit liveatthestewart.com.
