Buckeye shopping centers nab more retail, restaurant tenants Article originally posted on Phoenix Business Journal on August 14, 2025 More retailers are signing on as Buckeye’s burgeoning shopping center corridor off the I-10 freeway and Verrado Way takes shape, where more than 1 million square feet of retail is currently under development. At Verrado Marketplace, a 500,000-square-foot complex from Vestar on the northeast side of the freeway, the newest specialty retailers to sign leases include See’s Candies and Sourdough & Co., a fast-casual soup and sandwich shop. Others to recently sign on include CityVet, NextCare and Great Clips. Those tenants will join a variety of other retailers in the complex anchored by Target, Harkins Backlot, Safeway, Ross, Marshalls and HomeGoods. Harkins Backlot, a family entertainment center, is slated to open this fall, while most of the other shops are expected to open in May 2026.
