Chicago luxury condo developer kicks off $90M project; sells out first development Article originally posted on Phoenix Business Journal on October 14, 2024 Chicago-based Belgravia Group Ltd., which made its Phoenix debut with a $100 million condominium community in north Scottsdale, is preparing for its second project right across the street. Its first 112-unit project, called Portico, sold out in March, said Belgravia CEO Jonathan McCulloch. Plans are now in the works for another 88 units in a luxury condo community called Atavia. Both are within DMB Associates Inc.’s $1 billion One Scottsdale mixed-use project at the northeast corner of Scottsdale Road and Loop 101. Atavia received Scottsdale Design Review Board approval on Oct. 3. McCulloch expects to begin infrastructure work in early 2024 and begin vertical construction the middle of the year. “We will commence taking reservations toward the end of this month,” McCulloch said. “We kept one unit at Portico to use as a model for Atavia early next year.” Chicago-based Maris Construction is general contractor and KTGY is architect for Atavia. They both are working the Portico project, which is expected to be completely finished by spring 2025. Units at Atavia will range between 1,570 and 2,957 square feet and will be priced from the $800,000s to $1.7 million. These 88 units at Atavia will have an attached 2-car garage with a front door at the ground level. The floor plans, however, will be vastly different.
