Developer Prepares Former Onsemi Chip Factory Campus for Major Corporate User

The rest of the former Onsemi campus is set to be razed in preparation for a major corporate user that wants to be near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

After acquiring 72 acres of the Onsemi property in 2021 and 2022, officials with Baker Development Corp., which has offices in Chicago and Phoenix, started envisioning what they wanted to build at the old semiconductor campus site.

Some buildings were demolished while Baker Development initially envisioned building new speculative industrial facilities and for the remainder of the campus to be redeveloped.

But after receiving an influx of interest from potential tenants, the firm pivoted its plans and is now planning to demolish the remainder of the campus for the creation of a larger vacant site to sell off or lease.
