Fender starts construction on custom-built Arizona flagship office at PV Article originally posted on Phoenix Business Journal on October 1, 2024 Fender Musical Instruments Corp. is expected to be rocking in its new Arizona office next fall. Fender broke ground Sept. 30 on a 77,000-square-foot, three-story build-to-suit office at PV, a more than 100-acre, $2 billion redevelopment of the former Paradise Valley Mall led by Phoenix-based Red Development. Fender expects to occupy its new office in 2025. Andy Mooney, CEO of Fender, said the expansion has been on the company’s mind as it has doubled in size over the last decade and needed space to accommodate additional growth and bring all local operations under one roof. Because it required space to hand-make prototype guitars, test amplifiers and needed a professional studio, along with having amenities for employees like a café, meeting spaces and flexible workspaces, Mooney said the company opted for a custom build-to-suit office building rather than move into an existing building that could have meet the sizing requirements. It will also have a dedicated model shop for its guitar and amplifier designers. “This was a chance to bring everybody together, create a truly custom-made building for our specific needs and allow us room for future growth,” Mooney said. Jeff Moloznik, Red’s senior vice president of development, told the Business Journal that Red was first introduced to Fender in January 2022 and the two quickly were aligned on the vision that was coming together at the redevelopment. The addition of Fender to the mix at PV to a strong lineup of both local and national retailers and restaurants, gave PV more legitimacy as an office destination.
