Scottsdale-based Putting World looks to expand nationally, internationally

Putting World, an indoor, air-conditioned putting course in north Scottsdale, has been growing its business with both golfers and non-golfers over the past 18 months and is preparing to expand.

The attraction, which is located inside a 25,000-square-foot space in the Promenade Scottsdale shopping center at Scottsdale Road and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard, differs from traditional mini golf offerings — such as what the to-be-redeveloped CrackerJax once offered across the street — by trying to offer a real golf experience.

“Putting World is like putting on the best greens at the best courses anywhere you can find,” Steve Leonard, Putting World’s chief operating officer and general manager, told the Business Journal. “When we started out, we based the concept on traditional golf clubs — tournaments, teaching lessons and everything else operating as an indoor country club.”
