A Trader Joe’s in Gilbert has been named one of the best grocery stores in the country.

Solitaired, a gaming website, analyzed over 7 million Google reviews of grocery stores in the 100 most populous cities across the United States.

Trader Joe’s swept the rankings: Across all grocery store chains, the brand took the top spot nationally. Of the best 50 individual grocery stores, the study found that two-thirds were Trader Joe’s locations.

But not all Trader Joe’s are the same — an Arizona Trader Joe’s landed at No. 4 on the list of best grocery stores in the country. Here’s why.

What’s the best Trader Joe’s in Arizona?

The Gilbert location at 1779 E. Williams Field Road was ranked No. 4 in the country, with 4.8 stars from almost 2,000 reviews. As a newer location, this Trader Joe’s is one of the larger stores in the Valley.

“So much bigger than other locations and full of tasty samples and organic products,” one Google review stated.

There are 13 Trader Joe’s in metro Phoenix and 18 in Arizona. Positive reviews of the Gilbert store pointed out the large selection of produce and friendliness of staff.

“Trader Joe’s is great already, but I am always blown away by the kindness and help all of the employees at this location give!” another review stated.

Methodology

Solitaired found that one of the most common places people were playing its Solitaire games was in line at the grocery store, so they analyzed reviews to determine the best and worst grocery stores, as well as the ones with long lines.

The study looked at the first 30 grocery stores that came up in Google search for the 100 most populous cities in the U.S. Some of the rankings, like the best grocery stores in the country, were based on number of reviews and star ranking, while others were based on analysis of the language used in reviews.
