$60M retail project going up at Ellsworth and Elliot roads in Mesa

Location: Northeast corner of Ellsworth and Elliot roads.

Description: East Gate Plaza is a $60 million retail project led by Scottsdale-based Diversified Partners.

The 17-acre project “is designed to meet growing demand for high-quality retail, dining and wellness experiences in the rapidly expanding East Valley,” according to a news release from the company.

It’s also envisioned to meet the needs of the master-planned Eastmark community and the emerging Superstition Vistas region.

Several tenants have been confirmed at East Gate Plaza. Eateries will include:

  • Starbucks
  • Einstein Bros. Bagels
  • WingSnob
  • Señor Taco
  • Farmer Boys
  • Zeitouna
  • Fresh Monkee
  • Port of Subs
  • Ono Hawaiian BBQ
  • Playa Bowls
  • Kolache Café

Service-based tenants will include:

  • Euphoria Nail Salon
  • Hand & Stone Spa
  • Andi’s Hair Salon (AVEDA)
  • Discount Tire
  • FitFX

More tenants are expected to be announced, including a restaurant with a bar, a dental office, a veterinary practice, a med spa and a family medicine practice.

A Cambria Hotel will also be constructed at East Gate Plaza, the company said.

History of site: Diversified Partners has worked on this project dating to October 2022, according to city documents. It was previously desert land.

When will work be done? Construction is expected to wrap up in early 2026.
