Angie’s founder eyes shuttered Salad and Go locations for expansion Article originally posted on Phoenix Business Journal on January 9, 2026 Tony Christofellis, who founded Salad and Go in the early 2010s, said he wasn’t surprised by the company’s announcement this week to exit Texas, and said the Lone Star State growth strategy was one of the factors leading to he and his wife Roushan parting ways with the business. “The reason why we left is they wanted to grow Texas and blow it up and grow so fast, and we said we weren’t ready for it,” Christofellis told the Business Journal. “They told us, ‘You built a great business, and we don’t need you anymore.’” Christofellis sold his shares of Salad and Go and private equity firm Volt Investment Holdings went forward with the fast-track blitz in Texas, which brought more than 60 stores to the state in just a few years. Salad and Go’s current CEO agrees that the company grew too fast and told the Business Journal this week that the plan is to close all its Texas stores and refocus the brand in Arizona, including moving its headquarters back to the Valley.
