Arizona Coyotes Unveil Arena Plans for Land NHL Team Wants to Buy in Phoenix

A public auction date has been set for the land in north Phoenix where the Arizona Coyotes want to build a new arena.

The Arizona State Land Department announced it will hold a state trust land auction on June 27 for the more than 110 acres at the northwest corner of the Loop 101 freeway and Scottsdale Road — a burgeoning part of Phoenix near Desert Ridge Marketplace, Mayo Clinic and the Fairmont Princess Scottsdale.

With the auction date set, Coyotes ownership unveiled its plans for the site, provided they end up as the winning bidder. The ambitious plans include an arena, an entertainment district with restaurants and shops, office towers, and hundreds of residential units.
