A Canadian startup plans to establish its U.S. headquarters in the Valley after landing a major government contract to develop a wearable technology system for the first space station to orbit the moon.

Montreal-based Carré Technologies Inc., which operates under the brand name Hexoskin, is scouting areas in the Valley for its potential U.S. headquarters. The company plans to establish the new US office by early 2026, Pierre-Alexandre Fournier, founder of Carré Tech and Hexoskin, told AZ Inno.

Fournier, who lives in Gilbert and is on the advisory board for Phoenix-based WearTech Applied Research Center, said the decision to expand Hexoskin to the Valley was years in the making. Hexoskin makes wearable smart garments with sensors that monitor cardiac, respiratory, sleep and athletic activities.

“We’ve delayed this plan, but now we’re ready. We have new products coming in, so lots of growth coming for our company,” Fournier said. “Things are going pretty well and I think the timing is right.”
