Location: 7620 E Cavasson Blvd., along the western block of Hayden Road that’s just north of Loop 101 in Scottsdale.

Description: A multitenant retail and medical center will join north Scottsdale’s sprawling master-planned development called Cavasson.

Led by Nationwide Realty Investors, the real estate arm of the insurance company, the $1 billion Cavasson is a 134-acre development. It’s already home to Nationwide’s new corporate offices, as well as a Hilton hotel, restaurants and other office buildings.

The developer carved out nearly 7 acres across the street from the Hilton, to welcome two new buildings.

On the eastern edge of the lot, closest to Hayden, there will be a one-story structure that will house roughly 12,800 square feet of restaurant and retail space.

At the western end of the lot, a two-story 37,000-square-foot medical office is being built.

Nationwide and its partners have not yet announced which retailers, restaurants and health provider have been lined up to move into the buildings.

History: The Ohio-based Nationwide began making moves in metro Phoenix in September 2018, when it purchased the property from the State Land Trust at auction for $83 million.

That same year, Scottsdale leaders approved the Cavasson development plan, paving Nationwide’s path to break ground on the site, which was planned for mid-2019.

Since then, Cavasson has continued to expand. The site has zoning to allow about 1.8 million square feet of office space and about 1,600 apartment or condo units.

In addition to the new retail and medical center, a handful of other planned projects at the site look to bring luxury apartments, for-sale townhomes and another six-story office building.

When will the work be done? It’s unclear when the new retail and medical buildings will be completed.
