Honeywell Aerospace leases office in Tempe for overflow employees

Honeywell Aerospace signed a 29,000-square-foot office lease in Tempe to support the company’s growth across the Valley.

In mid-June, the aerospace and defense technology firm moved 100 employees into the Fountainhead Office Plaza at 1625 W. Fountainhead Parkway off Interstate 10, a company spokesperson confirmed with the Business Journal.

The new office lease follows the company’s recent spinoff of its aerospace, automation and advanced materials businesses into three separate entities from its parent company, Honeywell International.

Honeywell Aerospace (Nasdaq: HONA) started trading as a separate public company on June 29.

The two-year lease in Tempe is designed to serve as a temporary overflow space with employees in these roles: aftermarket, ES, ISC sourcing, D&S proposals and CSM.

“This space is being used to house Honeywell Aerospace employees in the Phoenix metro area as we expand to capacity at other sites,” Adam Kress, Honeywell Aerospace’s senior director of external communications, told the Business Journal. The office space has the capacity for 200 workers.

The company is spending over $105,000 in tenant improvements on the office, mainly for an information technology fit-out and “minor internal renovations,” including the flooring and reception area.

The new office is about six miles southeast from Honeywell Aerospace’s global headquarters at 1944 E. Sky Harbor Circle North, which is near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The company employs about 9,000 workers in Phoenix, about a quarter of its total workforce and has seven offices and manufacturing plants in the Phoenix area, the Business Journal previously reported.
