Luxury $100 million apartment, restaurant project planned for Phoenix warehouse district Article originally posted on AZ Central on October 30, 2025 A $100 million apartment and restaurant project is planned for a parking lot in the warehouse district of downtown Phoenix. A New York-based developer, Gallium, is partnering with Colorado-based Elevate Companies to develop the complex called Amara, which will contain about 300 luxury apartment units. The building is planned to be seven stories tall on the 2.3-acre site. It was designed by New York-based DXA Studio. The land, located at Sixth and Grant streets, is used as a surface parking lot but has zoning in place to allow for the redevelopment as a mixed-use project, Jaf Glazer, managing director of Gallium, said. Glazer said the company is in discussions with two restaurant groups to take the ground floor space, which would be about 15,000 square feet and would likely be split into two restaurants. One, he said, is a New York brand that would be the first in Arizona, and the other is a group based in Copenhagen. “We look for energy and a neighborhood that’s being reinvigorated,” he said. “We kind of felt like the city was moving south, and that was further confirmed when the Suns bought the land next to us.” The site is adjacent to where the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury have established their offices and a practice facility, in an adapted former warehouse building. The apartments are planned to have “unique amenities” with a focus on wellness, including a hyperbaric chamber, red light therapy, cold plunges and other offerings, Glazer said. Construction on the apartment is planned to begin in late 2026 and take between 18 and 24 months, he said.
