More Commercial Space, Living Units Proposed in Surprise; Plus 8 More Valley Deals to Know

A new mixed-use project with apartments and 100,000 square feet of commercial space is being proposed for a growing area in the northwest part of metro Phoenix in Surprise.

Called Desert Arroyo, the development has been planned for about 42 acres at the northeast corner of 163rd Avenue and Jomax Road nearby the Desert Oasis and Asante communities north of Grand Avenue.

Scottsdale-based EcoVista Development LLC, through law firm Beus Gilbert McGroder PLLC, applied to rezone the site with the city of Surprise. This would create a planned area development and change a portion of the site from rural residential to community commercial uses.
