Nearly 2 Million Square Feet of Industrial Space Progresses in Buckeye

A developer recently started construction on a new industrial facility in Buckeye, a fast-growing suburb west of Phoenix.

Buckeye has become a growing hotspot for industrial development as more projects progress in the fast-growing city.

This month, Scottsdale-based Martens Development broke ground on its planned Mission Park industrial project that will cover 723,508 square feet.

The smaller building will total nearly 200,000 square feet and feature 32-foot clear heights and 6000 amps of power. The south building will total nearly 530,000 square feet and include 40-foot clear heights and 6000 amps of power.

“This project marks the entry point to the city, and we are proud to deliver an iconic project in such a strategic location,” said Martens Development Principal David Martens, in a statement. “Buckeye’s pro-growth mentality was critical to this project’s ground-breaking.”

The two-building facility will be located on about 35 acres near the southwest corner of Perryville and McDowell roads and Interstate 10 in the eastern part of the city. Buckeye Mayor Eric Orsborn said in a statement that the new project will bring more jobs to Buckeye residents and drive growth in other sectors.

Construction is expected to be completed by Q2 of 2024 on Mission Park by general contractor Willmeng Construction. Ware Malcomb is the architect for the project and Kimley-Horn is the civil engineer.

Kevin Cosca, Cooper Fratt and John Werstler of CBRE Group Inc. are the leasing brokers.

In the past three years, Martens said it has completed about 3 million square feet of industrial space across the Valley.
