Two Phoenix resorts have sold for more, and a huge land deal in Buckeye is just behind the shopping center on the list. So far, 2025 is a big year for high-priced real estate sales with two of the top five closing in the first 6 months. Here’s a look at the top five metro Phoenix real estate deals to sell since 2010, according to real estate database Vizzda’s most recent research. The list also includes another shopping center: 1. JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa: $865M The JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in north Phoenix sold for $865 million in early June, putting it at the top of the list of the Valley’s priciest real estate sales. Ryman Hospitality Properties bought the 950-room resort. 2. Arizona Biltmore: $705M The Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix near Paradise Valley changed hands for $705 million in May 2024. Private equity firm Henderson Park purchased the 703-room historic resort. 3. Scottsdale Quarter: $645M The Scottsdale Quarter ranks no. 3 with its $645.1 million sales price. The 755,000-square-foot development was bought by tech billionaire George Kurtz, CEO of CrowdStrike. He plans to invest another $100 million in revamping the development. The north Scottsdale mixed-used development has more than 100 shops and restaurants. 4. Douglas Ranch: $600M The Howard Hughes Corp. paid $600 million for the 36,000-Douglas Ranch community in Buckeye in October 2021. 5. Tempe Marketplace: $367M And the Tempe Marketplace shopping center next to the Loop 202 changed hands for $367 million October 2015. The 1.3 million-square-foot development has more than 100 shops and restaurants.
