Southern California firm moves closer to luxury car storage club in Scottsdale Article originally posted on Phoenix Business Journal on May 28, 2026 A Southern California-based company is a step closer to building a luxury car storage facility with a social club in Scottsdale. Finish Line Auto Club has plans for its newest country club-esque location at 17600 N. Perimeter Center Dr., where Fender Musical Instruments Corp. was previously headquartered. The firm acquired the 10 acres of land on May 20 for $20.7 million from an entity affiliated with Tryperion Holdings, a private equity and real estate investment firm based in Beverly Hills, according to Tempe-based real estate database Vizzda LLC. “It’ll be a full country club environment for car collectors, and we’re shooting for the highest level possible,” said the club’s co-founder and principal, Tony Principe. He founded the concept with his father, Rick Principe. Scottsdale facility projected to open in 2028 Tony Principe anticipates the demolition process on the former Fender building will begin in the next 60 days with a groundbreaking targeted for the end of summer, pending city review of the firm’s construction drawings, he said. Finish Line Auto Club could open in the first quarter of 2028, he said. “The Development Review is being submitted in phases. There have been some approvals on this, but I understand some revisions are also being made,” city spokesperson Kristen Landry told the Business Journal. The plan is to build a five-building, 140,000-square-foot “car condo” facility that will include a 20,000-square-foot clubhouse. Each garage will be for sale, allowing owners to purchase, decorate and customize their spaces. The units will have mezzanine floors, air conditioning and plumbing, according to a site plan submitted to the city. The car condos will vary in size from 1,000 to 3,000 square feet, Principe said, adding that some units can be combined for larger storage areas. Luxury car storage to have many amenities As for the clubhouse, it will have coffee shop, meeting rooms and an upstairs lounge. Members will have 24/7 access to the facility, which will also have a gym and “layers of security,” he said. Principe said the project will be built in two phases. The first phase will include 100,000 square feet across three buildings, one of which will be the clubhouse. LGE Design Build is serving as the general contractor and architect. Events are set to be hosted at the Scottsdale location for Finish Line Auto Club members, such as cars and coffee, private speaker series and cocktail parties.
