Sprouts Farmers Market plans new Mesa store as part of ongoing Valley expansion

Sprouts Farmers Market Inc.’s Valley expansion is continuing with a new store planned in Mesa.

The Phoenix-based specialty grocer (Nasdaq: SFM) on Sept. 9 presented details about the planned location, at the intersection of West Southern Avenue and South Alma School Road, to Mesa’s Design Review Board.

The 90,000-square-foot commercial center is set to receive a façade upgrade to accommodate the new Sprouts, according to a presentation shared with the Design Review Board. The plan for the space is to convert an existing 30,000-square-foot building into the new Sprouts store, project documents show.

“The building is to be partially demolished in the rear for a new loading dock and the front for a new tower feature,” according to a project description. “The existing shell will get repainted to align with the Sprouts and center’s theme.”
