A new study by SmartAsset has ranked America’s cities based on their recent influx in population and economic growth. Out of 400 U.S. cities with populations of more than 65,000, seven Arizona communities were placed in the top 50 boomtowns showing rapid growth. This isn’t the first time these Arizona communities have been reported as showing fast development; studies from different groups have pointed to these same cities in the past. Each city is scored across growth in three categories: five-year labor force change, five-year housing change and county-level annual GDP growth, pointing to an influx of growing communities across the U.S. Arizona’s fastest-growing city Buckeye was ranked nationally as the 13th fastest-growing city, placing it first out of Arizona’s seven “boomtown” cities.
