Construction begins on $10M amenities project at 5,300-acre master-planned community Article originally posted on Phoenix Business Journal on September 1, 2026 Construction has begun on a $10 million amenities project at the 5,300-acre Saddleback master-planned community in Peoria. Called Basecamp, the 16-acre site will feature an expansive collection of amenities and gathering spaces within the $1 billion master-planned development. A resort-style pool anchors the outdoor recreation zone, surrounded by shaded lounging areas, lush courtyards and a splash pad. It also will include a 10,000-square-foot event lawn for community events, outdoor lounges, games, grilling areas and a dedicated space for food trucks. Basecamp also will feature a quarter-mile bike pump track, a dedicated bike barn and outfitter, a climbing boulder and a 200-step fitness challenge offering an elevated workout. A fitness programming space also will provide opportunities for organized wellness and fitness activities. Primake Construction Group is general contractor, Collaborative Design Studio is architect, and RVi is landscape architect for the project that is slated to open in summer 2027.
