Buc-ee’s, the Texas-based chain of convenience stores and gas stations, has purchased 22 acres in Goodyear, Arizona, with plans to build a new store, slated to be its first to open in the state.

Buc-ee’s is planning to build a 75,400-square-foot convenience store at the corner of Bullard Avenue and Interstate 10 that is expected to have 120 gas pumps. Construction is scheduled to start on the new store this summer. Buc-ee’s purchased the site last month from EJM Development Co., a California-based real estate development firm, for $17.25 million, per CoStar information.

Buc-ee’s has 48 locations in states including Texas, Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Kentucky. It is known for its massive size, cleanliness, made-to-order sandwiches and dozens of gas pumps. At its anticipated newest location in Goodyear, Buc-ee’s is expected to employ more than 200 people, and the store is planning to be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
